I am an Assistant Professor of the Practice in the Department of Statistical Science at Duke University. Prior to joining the faculty at Duke, I earned a Ph.D. in Statistics from the University of Virginia and worked as a statistician at Capital One. I primarily work on innovative and inclusive course design and curriculum development for undergraduate statistics and data science courses, with a focus on the “second course”. My research focuses on understanding the impact of identity and classroom environment on students’ sense of belonging in introductory math and statistics courses, with the aim of identifying pedagogical practices that foster community and supportive learning environments.
